…we interrupt this photo shoot…

One of my goals for my blog is to post my Project Life layouts for others to see, be inspired by (maybe!!) and to connect with my far-flung family and friends.  I have been pondering how best to organize this on my blog, but in the meantime, I’ve been trying to shoot some of my layouts in preparation for uploading.  In addition to figuring out how I want my blog to “work”, I’ve been experimenting with how best to shoot my layouts…

Fred, the Cat

For those of you who haven’t been to my house, this is Fred.  We adopted him and his sister Ginger in 1996, so he’s getting up there in years.  Ginger passed away earlier this year and since she’s been gone, Fred has been spending a lot more time upstairs with the humans.  For instance, when I’m trying to take photos…

He’s decided that he must at that very specific moment in time…wake up from whatever pile of blankets or clean clothing he’s sleeping on, and come and see what his human is doing.  I think he sees himself as a household supervisor

And of course, the next thing that happens when I say “Fred!  Get out of there…”  Shadow, the dog races upstairs from her nest on the Family Room sofa to see what is going on…

It’s no wonder that the photos have not made it onto my blog yet…but at least photos of the pets have…. small progress??  I guess I”ll have to take what I can get…

12.5 hours…not that i’m counting…

and I’m leaving to head up north to NH for Squam Art Workshop! Squeeee! excited yes!  bummed that it’s p.o.u.r.i.n.g. rain – slightly but the truck is cleaned out and filled with gas, i’m thinking about packing and I’ve decided what to have on the needles while i’m there…

yarn to afghan

was going to start a sweater for Charlie but I cannot find the pattern for the life of me so…afghan blocks it will be!   I have 4 skeins of this yummy yarn so I’ll start with blocks of this and see where it takes me.  Should knit up quickly on size 11’s.

12.4 hours…see you at Squam!

getting ready for an adventure…

Squam Art Workshop….I have been wanting to go for years, first no $, then no time, then kept missing registration but FINALLY!  I am going…if only for A Taste of Squam this weekend!  Hoping for a full week next year.  Can’t wait, starting to think about what to bring…maybe some of this?photo

There’s a certain special guy who has requested some knitted items (!) no better time to start than at a Ravelry Revelry now is there!

Day after tomorrow!!  yippee!!

If you are curious about what Squam Art Workshop is all about, click on the “Squam” button in the sidebar to visit their site…and maybe I”ll see you there next time!!

ready, set, sew

Some days (weeks, months) it seems like progress is slow to nonexistent.  Such is the case with my latest sewing project for (wait for it…) myself (!)  *gasp*  I know, really, I can’t think of the last time I made something for myself…it’s been at least since we’ve moved (which is coming up on 2 years)  lots of stuff for the girls, things for the house and for hubby but me?  not so much.

all ready and waiting

Well…I saw this super cute “Tova” top in a post over at Hawthorne Threads blog and thought…this is it!  I ordered up some beautiful cotton lawn from them  (super super nice people with a lovely shop if you are in the market for on-line fabric purchases, hope to visit their actual shop one day!)  I ordered the “Mariella” in grey/pink

Three fitting muslins later, I have cut out the (altered) pattern, picked buttons and found thread to match…then the girls came home from school.  *sigh*  maybe this afternoon?  Fingers crossed friends, fingers crossed.
