Today is March 28, 2019. A lot has happened since I last posted, the world is spinning at an ever increasing rate it feels like. We are nearing the end of the first week of stay-home-so-you-don’t-infect-people here in Massachusettes. The news gets worse by the day. In the back of my mind, there is a corner that is in constant terror for my little sister who is a nurse in a medical icu unit that has just been turned into a covid unit. I have finally this afternoon put a name to the other feeling I have which is dread.
In an effort to not get sucked down that dark dank hole, I am keeping busy this afternoon scanning a clients slides. Having a yummy lunch of homemade knockoff Panera Autumn Squash soup. My daughter just brought me some yummy fruit smoothie she made and hubby is busy alternating working and doing laundry.
While the scanner is scanning (each batch of 30 takes over an hour), I decided to take a break from making masks to finish up a scrapbook layout that has been hanging around since probably 2014…
I had started a layout with this photo back then, didn’t like it, and there it sat in my unfinished layout folder …which we all know is the digital equivalent to that pile on the corner of the desk. I decided one of my projects for this year is to either finish/ re-work the layouts in that folder or delete them. This photo is from 2001 and seriously, don’t they look like they are conspiring against us?! Very happy to have made a start on a project that is useful and creative when we definitely need useful and creative things around us! The template is from this months Simple Scrapper templates and I think the kit is Just Jaimee’s Storyteller
Really, I have been loads of other things besides digi-scrapping but they are just so much easier to share ! Heading off to a girlfriend adventure this week but wanted to share the latest layouts I did for my buddy Janet from Little Feet Digital Designs. So much fun working with her beautiful kits!
Solar Eclipse 2017
I will admit we were kind of eclipse slackers but it was still worth commemorating the event if nothing else than to use the gorgeous images from NASA! Kit: Total Eclipse of the Heart
I have to admit when the suggestion was made to use the kit Land of dreams, the Whitie Tightie papers AND the A Little Privacy Please embellishments I did kind of pause and think how I was going to pull this all together…then I was scrolling thru my photos in Lightroom and found this photo of Lily from a photo shoot the girls did and bingo… ladies and gentleman we have a moment in time documented!
Anyone who knows me knows that I love Texas! It was heartbreaking to see the devastation from the hurricane. Janet designed a Texas Strong kit with templates from her partner Dagi’s Digital Designs and is donating all proceeds to hurricane relief. We also donated to the United Methodist Committee on Relief Fund for hurricane relief as well as Undies for Everyone… because everyone needs clean new underwear.
Hope everyone enjoys the bonus Monday off…it’s rainy here which is great for much needed rain!
I did manage to fit in a little digi-scrapping at the end of last year in between family and traveling and snow and ahem, not finishing my december daily or my Project Life (both in process) sometimes it’s just great to do something start to finish in one sitting…done
Digital Layout using Little Feet Digital Designs 30 days of Thankful kit
Thankful List using LIttle Feet Digital Designs 30 Days of Thanks / Cornucopia kit
Both of these layouts (which I am presenting as a 2 page layout) are from a beautiful digital kit designed by my dear friend Janet Carr of Little Feet Digital Designs. the kit is available HERE and it is gor-ge-ous as you can see. Since the page with photos was so colorful, I opted to change all of my photos to black and white so they would stand out. I used PSE8 (i know, i know time to upgrade) and the “convert to b/w” settings to change the photos.
Hope you enjoy! Have more to post but signing off for now to survey the snow on the roof…
